History and Modernity in the Context of Prose about the History of the Past by T.M. Kerashev
Abstract

The correlation of history and modernity, which determines the character of the historicism of national literatures, is one of the most important problems of Russian multinational literature. In this regard, interest is the process of rethinking and evaluating the experience of the historical past of the Adyghe people in the prose of T.M. Kerashev between 1960-1980-ies of the XX century, which became the object of research in the article. The background of writer’s appeal to the distant past lies, above all, is the desire to reveal the national characters and national traditions of the ancestors in the complex process of their formation. Thoughts on the continuity of history and modernity, on the successive connection of times and generations, get a new content in prose about the historical past of T.M. Kerashev.
