Verbal and Non-Verbal Means for Representation of Fear Emotional State in Character’s Behavior on the Material of «Der Tote im See» by Charlotte Habersack

This work is devoted to the identification and description of verbal and non-verbal means of representing the emotional state of fear. In the text of fiction, the author describes the emotion of fear experienced by the character. The paper presents the results of the analysis of the representation of the emotion of fear in the framework of Charlotte Habersack’s “Der Tote im See”. In this paper, non-verbal means of realizing the character’s emotional state of fear are described in detail. It is concluded that it is non-verbal (kinetic) means that play a leading role in the manifestation of the emotion of fear. According to the results of the work, it is emphasized that the combination of verbal and non-verbal means used by the author is effective in representing the character’s emotional state of fear.
