The aesthetics and poetics of steppe space are considered in the epic novel by M.A. Sholokhov “Quiet Flows the Don”. Ethnopoetic, aesthetic-reflexive and historical-cultural methods are used. The aesthetic model of nature is considered, which caused the multifunctionality of steppe images in the epic novel “Quiet Flows the Don” with an emphasis on the genetic connection of a person with a habitat.
