THE SEMANTICS OF BASE WORDS IN DECLARATIVE CONSTRUCTIONS USED IN BILINGUAL PROSE BY V.NABOKOV: CROSSCUL- TURAL ANS CROSSLINGUAL APPROACHES
Abstract
Zelinsky I.O.
Keywords: personification, crosslingual, static, authoritative, culturally motivated.
The article is devoted to the description of the specific semantics of base verbs, which were used by Nabokov in his creativity. Such verbs when used in complex declarative sentences carry lingual cultural information, underlining the mentality of language speakers. Thus, English language speakers tend to be active and to lessen personification.
