ARTISTIC IMAGES OF THE SCIENTIFIC HISTORICAL TEXT OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY (ON THE MATERIAL OF “ANCIENT RUSSIAN HISTORY BEFORE THE MONGOLIAN YOKE” BY M.P.POGODIN)
Abstract
Shevtsova O.N.
Keywords: scientific historiography, Russian history, comparative analysis.
The creation of special language for scientific historiography, which was formed in the first half of XIX century, was one of the Russian cultural features at that time. The influence of the language of literary works on the texts of science fiction is apparent in the book “Ancient Russian History before the Mongolian Yoke” by M.P.Pogodin. He based his style on citation-paraphrases principle. Structuring the text of his historical work in this way his purpose was to attract interest to Russian history and to some sides of the theory of official nationality. The author proves it using comparative analysis of the texts by M.P.Pogodin, N.V.Gogol and “Slovo o Polku Igoreve”.
