This article describes the conference organized by the University of Turin and the classical lyceum of Ivrea, April, 12 – 14, 2012. The authors briefly describe the program of this conference. The main topic for presentations was studying ancient languages in various countries of the world. Some of the reports were devoted to the peculiarities of the teaching of classical languages in lyceums of Italy. By studying ancient languages, students primarily engaged in linguistics, i.e. they learn lexical, grammatical and stylistic features of this ancient and beautiful language.
