Abstract
Shirina Ye. V.
Keywords: concept, political discourse, discursive thinking, conceptual definition, rhetorical schemes of speech.
The article analyzes political concepts of Herzen’s publicistic writings dating back to 1850’s-1860’s. Their peculiarity lies in the unification of historical facts and their subjective assessments from ideological positions and the author’s point of view. The analysis is based on the political concepts ‘power’, ‘people’, ‘Russia’, ‘individual’ which have not been studied before. The depth of Herzen’s art of rhetoric ensures effective influence on the audience. In this aspect it offers plenty of new and useful information for modern journalists.
