HERO'S QUEST IN NEIL GAIMAN'S “AMERICAN GODS: A NOVEL”

The article is devoted to the specific reflection of the heroic myth in modern literature within the framework of mythological convention. The article deals with the structure of the myth of the hero from the viewpoint of myth theorists, and its representation in Neil Gaiman's “American gods: a novel” as an element of its plot.
