This article focuses on the X International scientific conference "Language categories and units: syntagmatic aspect." The participants were acquainted with the history of the department of the Russian Language. The main themes of the reports were the experimental methods of studying grammar, the cognitive approach to the study of syntax, a complex study of language, speech and text analysis of discourse in anthropocentric paradigm, language picture of the world in a diachronic and linguistic geography. The conference was characterized by deep scientific content and magnificent hospitality of the hosts.
