CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL SPACE OF ITALY IN THE POETRY BY J. BRODSKY
Abstract
This article studies the structure of the topos of Italy, in particular, cultural and historical component of the Italian space. The material for investigation is Joseph Brodsky’s poems dedicated to Italy. We analyze the individual loci of such Italian cities as Rome, Florence, Venice, which are the key topos in the Italian text of Russian literature. The article points out the most important historical and cultural images specific to each of them.
