LINGUISTIC SPECIFITY AS THE INDICATION OF DON COSSACKS’ SUBETHNOS
Abstract
The article deals with the linguistic specificity as one of the indications of Don Cossacks’ subethnos. According to lexicographical sources Don dialects have the original dialect peculiarities on all linguistic levels. In the sphere of phonetics dialect phenomena deal with the systems of consonantism and vocalism. Lexical level is represented by different types of dialecticisms and dialect meanings of Russian words. In the sphere of grammar dialect peculiarities become apparent in morphology and syntax. The author notes that Don dialects mostly differ in phonetics and grammar, but draw nearer in vocabulary. On the lexical level an active interaction between them takes place.
Keywords: ethnolinguoculturology approach, Don Cossacks’ subethnos, Don dialect, dialect, linguistic levels.
