On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Southern Federal University on the basis of Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication of SFU there was held the II international Congress of the Hispaniards "National identity through the prism of the dialogue of cultures" in September, 2014. The Congress was devoted to topical problems of Philology in Spanish-Russian scientific space. Current affairs of the Congress aroused a great interest among philologists, linguists, journalists, culture experts, historians and specialists in international affairs from around the world.
