The article represents the analysis of the book "History of Russian journalism of the XVIII-XIX centuries" by Gromov L. P., Badalyan D. A. and Zhirkov G. V. The author appreciates the book and considers it the best manual on journalism of the present time. In the book makes an attempt to objectify the history of the ideological social activity – journalism. The authors confront with global challenges in creating this book and cope with them successfully according to the author of the article.
