‘THE ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF REGIONAL MEDIA’ AND SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL OF REGIONS

The article deals with the scientific methodological analysis of the all-Russian project “The Encyclopedia of regional media”. The author summarizes some outcomes of the study of local and national press in Russian regions and presents a selection of dissertations on the study of regional journalism for the last 20 years. He also raises a problem of creating the electronic database of national and local media and reflects on the structure of the Encyclopedia as a whole and its entries.
