The aim of this study is to model the subfield of dependent taxis in German by introducing the binomial “primary/secondary taxis.” It has been established that primary taxis is represented by temporal prepositions that explicate chronological relations of simultaneity/non-simultaneity. It has been demonstrated that secondary taxis is actualized by prepositions of adverbial semantics, where temporal meaning accompanies logical connections.
Key words: functional-semantic field of taxis, dependent taxis, taxis binomial, primary taxis, secondary taxis, prepositional deverbatives, temporal prepositions, adverbial prepositions, German language
