The article deals with the important philological problem: whether myths about different generations of the twentieth century are based on the memoirs of the people who lived at that time. To solve the problem, three texts are analyzed. The authors represent different generations, have different experience, different knowledge of the world. So they differently interpret the role of everyday objects in their life. Such approach allows analysing how the authors’ individual features are transformed into a myth about their generation, representing it as a single unity.
