The article reviews the book "Theming "I": self-portrait as a subject of observation in the visual arts of the twentieth century, and art therapy." by Rize Z. I. A self-portrait was considered as a genre of art. Psychotherapeutic aspects of the portrait were studied. The author highly appreciates this book, but notices that it lacks an applied approach – immersion in technique and reproductions of the analyzed works.
