Keywords: complex syntactic unity with inner speech, conceptual space of the text, subject plans of the author’s and the characters’ speech.
The article deals with structural and semantic peculiarities of inner speech of characters in G. Greene’s novel “The Strength and the Glory” and in the novels of A. Platonov. A special attention is given to the introducing verbs as markers of the author’s and the characters’ modal plans.
