Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the specific features of Gadzhi Akhtynsky's poems from his period in Baku. To achieve this goal, the following tasks must be addressed: identifying the significant differences between the poet's two periods (Akhtynsky and Baku), characterizing the content of his works created in Baku, and identifying the substantive aspects of these works. This article examines Gadzhi Akhtynsky's work, which reflects the initial stage of the national proletariat's life. With the penetration of capitalism into the Caucasus, seasonal work began to develop widely, and with it, workers' folklore emerged. Gadzhi Akhtynsky began composing poetry on topical issues. Like proletarian poets of other nations who created works in the first decade of the 20th century, he denounced slavery and called for unity and struggle. He began to reinterpret reality. The study established that Gadzhi Akhtynsky continued the traditions of folklore and founded the workers' poetry of the peoples of Dagestan. New tendencies emerge in Gadzhi Akhtynsky's work under the influence of capitalist reality. The novelty of our study stems from the fact that the workers' poetry of the peoples of Dagestan has not been fully studied or developed.

Key words: Dagestani literature, pre-revolutionary period, poetry of seasonal work, workers' songs, Gadzhi Akhtynsky
