The aim of the article is to identify the didactic potential of a problem lecture in the work on the formation and development of philological students' skills in analyzing genetic relationships in literature and painting (using the example of the formation and development of the image of a Beautiful Lady). The research is intended for teachers of literature and art who introduce the experience of an intermediate approach to understanding artistic phenomena. During the problem lecture, the features of the canon of the image of a Beautiful Lady in various historical epochs are highlighted, the specifics of the transformation of the canon and its causes are traced. With the help of problematic situations, tasks and questions, students are involved in partially exploratory activities that allow them to develop theoretical thinking, dialectical and heuristic abilities, artistic and communicative skills, and stimulate their cognitive activity. The first part of the article offers methodological recommendations for studying the formation and development of the canon of the Beautiful Lady in the era of Antiquity.
Key words: intermediate analysis, genetic connections, problem lecture, canon, DNA images, image of a Beautiful Lady
